Eventive is our box office and streaming platform. It is a subscription service, used by film festivals around the world. This is our third year using it for our streaming films. We started selling in-person tickets through Eventive before the pandemic.
Whether this is your third time streaming on Eventive, or your first, we hope this information will assist you.
Please visit the Eventive Help Page for information on device compatibility and ways to watch the films on your tv or or on another device. This is where you can also launch live chat support with a member of the Eventive audience support team.
Questions covered on the Help Page include:
You must have a (free) Eventive account to watch the films. You may have one already, especially if you bought HJFF tickets online in the past few years (pre-pandemic, too). A link to reset your password is available if needed. If you don’t have one, one will be set up when you purchase a pass or individual ticket.
Every film being show in person has the outline of a star next to the ORDER IN PERSON TICKETS
Click on the stars for each film you wish to purchase tickets. After each selection, there will be a pop-up at the bottom of the screen with the title you just starred, and the words VIEW STARRED. Click on VIEW STARRED. If you don’t click on VIEW STARRED, it will eventually fade away. Star or unstar any selection to have it reappear.
The next screen will display your selections, along with a link to place your order. Click on ORDER TICKETS TO [# of films you’ve selected] STARRED EVENTS.
The checkout window will display
Think of a pass as a coupon book.
To buy a pass, use the Passes link on the main page.
Select the pass you wish to purchase, and follow the prompts.
To use a pass to watch a film, you need to redeem a ‘coupon.’ Log in to your Eventive account.
Select Streaming Films.
Choose your film, then click Order/Unlock to Watch.
Select your pass (highlighted), and you will now have a ticket to watch the film. You will receive email confirmation.
A pass is not required; you may purchase your tickets individually. Whether through the Schedule or Film Guide (see screen shots above), select a film. When you click Order/Unlock to Watch, you will have to log in (if you haven’t already), add a payment method (if you haven’t stored a card number already), and then purchase your film.
On the festival page, look for your initials in the upper right corner and click that icon.
Selecting “My Content Library” will display all the films and videos you have unlocked.
If you have a question not covered here, scroll to the bottom of the Eventive help page to find the link for live chat support with an Eventive employee (this will not be someone from the JCC). Eventive staff can only handle technical issues. If you have an issue with tickets, please use the Contact Us form at the bottom of the main page.
